Introduction: Born in Sydney in 1952, Sister Vayama graduated from Sydney University and worked as social worker. She studied under Phra Khantipalo and become a Buddhist in 1982. Two years later she went to Sri Langka and become a ten-precept nun. She later spent a year in Amaravati Monastery in England before returning to Australia to be the abbess of a nunnery of the Buddhist Society of Western Australia |
June 26 3.00PM | Shan You Counselling Centre | Official Opening of New Premise SYCC will hold an official opening of its new premise and is inviting Mr Chan Soo Sen (Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Health) as guest of honour. The Centre is also inviting Venerable Long Gen, president of Singapore Buddhist Federation to grace the occasion. There will be a mini-exhibition of the Centre's services. All are welcome.
