Vesak 2026: Light Transference and Aspiration-Making Ceremony
When one light is kindled, countless others follow.
On 23 May at 6pm, we gather for the Light Transference and Aspiration-Making Ceremony, a quiet offering of wisdom passed from hand to hand.
As each candle is lit, what begins as a single flame gradually becomes a field of light. In this shared moment, we are reminded that wisdom need not be held. It is meant to be given, received and lived.
May this light illuminate not only the surroundings, but also our intentions, guiding us away from confusion and towards clarity, compassion, and understanding.

The practice of bowing every three steps is one of the Buddhist practices. Practitioners repent for past misdeeds and purify their body and mind by bowing once every three steps.
This Vesak Day, Guangmingshan Pujue Zen Temple cordially invites the public to participate in the Three Steps One Bow ceremony and experience this auspicious Dharma joy together.
The “Three Steps, One Bow” ceremony is a Buddhist practice of humility and devotion. With every three steps, we bow — repenting for unwholesome karma and purifying the body and mind.
