Bathing of Prince Siddhartha, Explanatory Talk and Celebration
Bathing of Prince Siddhartha, Explanatory Talk and Celebration at Buddhist Library on 21 May 2PM (Sun)
Come with your children on Sun 21 May to bathe Prince Siddhartha, offer flowers, and celebrate Vesak early! The Library is organizing a Pre-Vesak programme where Venerable Faxun will share on the significance of Vesak and the forementioned activities, and where all children and parents have a chance to make offerings.
Vesak Celebration: Celebrate Vesak with this traditional Light Transference & Aspiration Making Ceremony!
Witness how a single flame can illuminate a sea of darkness into an ocean of light, symbolising the transference of the inexhaustible light of Buddha’s wisdom to every direction of the world to dispel the darkness of ignorance. Complete the night with the aspiration-making activity by writing aspirations for yourself and your loved ones.
KMSPKS warmly welcome you to join us in celebration of Vesak as we immerse in the age-old Buddhist practice that commemorates the Birth, Enlightenment and Nirvana of the Buddha.
From 20 May, celebrate Vesak with your family through familiar activities such as the annual 3-Step, 1-Bow Ceremony, The Light Transference and Aspiration-Making Ceremony, Vegetarian Food Fair, and bathing of the statue of baby Prince Siddhartha.
Let us remind ourselves to stay away from defilements and come together to rejoice and show gratitude to the Buddha for His wisdom and teachings.
Vesak Celebration: Three Steps, One Bow Ceremony 三步一拜
Through the ages, Buddhist monks made long and arduous pilgrimages to the mountains to refine their minds and pay homage to the Buddha. This practice, which symbolically reminds us of the difficult but rewarding journey to enlightenment, has been passed down, and has evolved into the “Three Steps, One Bow” we know today.
KMSPKS invites devotees to join us in the “Three Steps, One Bow” ceremony to give thanks for the blessings we have received. May gratitude and repentance arise in our hearts as we remember that all difficulties can be overcome with determination and perseverance.

Today in the year 2566 ( BE ), Buddhists throughout the world celebrate the birth, the enlightenment and the passing away to parinibanna of Gautama Buddha on Vesak Day.
"A unique Being, an extraordinary Man arises in this world for the benefit of the many, for the happiness of the many, out of compassion for the world, for the good, benefit, and happiness of gods and men.
Who is this Unique Being? It is the Tathagata, the Exalted, Fully Enlightened One."
We are excited to be back with our first full-scale celebration in 4 years! With a varied line-up of pujas, blessings and activities, there is something for everyone! The inaugural Bodhicitta Art colouring contest for children and youth will also be taking place and we are looking forward to seeing fresh young faces adding colour to the Celebration🌈
Most importantly, it would be a great time to come together to celebrate the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana. By receiving blessings and accumulating merit, let us create the conditions for spiritual growth to continue the Buddha’s great legacy. We welcome all to join us. See you at the Celebration!👋
🌸We invite you to support the Celebration and ABC’s continuing activities to benefit beings by sponsoring pujas, oil lamps and flower offerings online at http://bit.ly/3o1k2is or at the ABC office during the Centre’s operation hours.
