 Mu Shim Sunim is the Abbot and Executive Director of Kye Ryong San International Zen Center, Mu Sang Sa. Born in USA, Mu Shim Sunim entered Buddhist study at Cambridge Zen Centre under the guidance of Zen Master Seung Sahn. He received full Bikkhu precepts in September 1986. From 1989 to 2001, he accompanied Zen Master Seung Sahn to Australia, South Africa, U.S.A., Europe , Israel. Turkey, Hong Kong, etc, as his personal Secretary.
In January 1997, Mu Shim Sunim received inka from Zen Master Seung Sahn and authority to teach Zen as a Ji Do Poep Sa. From April 1999 to Jan 2002, he was the Guding Teacher of the Seoul International Zen Center, Hwa Gye Sa. In November 2002, he established Nam San Zen Center the first International Zen Center in Busan.
