Ajahn Cattamalo was born in Germany, he was ordained in Wat Nong Pa Pong tradition of Venerable Ajahn Chah in 1988. He spent 7 years in various manasteries throughout in Thailand practising and studying with different meditation teachers of the forest traditions. For 13 years he lived at Bodhinyana Monastery in Perth Australie and was the Vice Abbot to Ajahn Brahm. He is now the Abbot of Muttodaya Forest Monastery in Germany
