Biography of Venerable Ajahn Sucitto

Venerable Ajahn Sucitto is a Buddhist monk (bhikkhu). He entered monastic life in 1975 in Thailand, but since 1978 has been based in Britain. He spent fourteen years training under Ajahn Sumedho, the senior Western disciple of Ajahn Chah, and so is part of that lineage of direct practice. The lineage has an umbrella website www.forestsangha.org. Ajahn Sucitto himself is based at Cittaviveka Monastery in Chithurst, West Sussex, near Petersfield in southern England (www.cittaviveka.org).

‘Having served as abbot of Cittaviveka since 1992, I resigned from that post at the end of October 2014. I took a sabbatical in 2015, but am teaching again for the forseeable future. I still maintain a base at Cittaviveka and intend to be there for the Vassa (summer) of 2016. Please watch this space for details.’ Ajahn Sucitto
